School Safety and Security
Security of the premises is very important. The gates to the playgrounds will be locked between 9am and 3pm so if your child is late for school or you visit school at another point in the day, you will need to access the site using the main gate by buzzing the school office.
At the end of the school day, children can be picked up from the classroom doors on the playground. Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will not be released until a parent / carer is ready to take them. Children in Year 3 and 4 will be released on to the playground area to wait for their parents and Year 5 and 6 are released to find their parents and know to return to the classroom should a parent not be waiting for them.
If you change your plans and somebody different is coming to collect your child who we don't know then please ring ahead and let us know. Staff will not release children to an adult they don't recognise. We appreciate that parents can be late from time to time; if that is the case then your child will need to be collected from the school office at the main entrance of school.
As you come and go, we ask you to remember some important rules of the playground. Dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are not allowed on school premises. If you have a dog with you and they are left at the school gate or around the perimeter of school, please ensure that they are not causing a worry for any other child or family.
Our playground has a 'no wheels policy' at drop off and pick up times. Pushchairs and prams are the obvious exception. This means that children bringing bikes or scooters must dismount at the school gate and push their ride on into school. This also applies to 'pre-schoolers' as well as children at school. This helps to keep everyone safe at a busy times of the day.
